Who we are

Decodr is a browser extension developed to enhance the NotebookLM experience with organizational and productivity features. "We," "us," and "our" refer to the Decodr team.

What data we collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

• Authentication data: When you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive your email address and basic profile information (name, profile picture) to identify your account.
• Account preferences: Your extension settings and preferences (like folder names and tag configurations) are stored in your browser locally or synced through Chrome's built-in sync feature.
• Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Paystack. We do not store your payment card details.

What we don't collect

We explicitly do not collect or access:

• Your notebook content or sources in NotebookLM
• Your conversations, prompts, or generated content
• Your browsing history outside of where Decodr operates
• Any content from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, YouTube, or other imported sites beyond what you explicitly import into NotebookLM

How we use your data

We use the data we collect to:

• Authenticate your account and maintain your session
• Determine your subscription status (Free or Plus)
• Improve the product and fix bugs

Data storage and security

Your organizational data (folders, tags, prompts) is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage APIs. This data never leaves your machine unless you use Chrome Sync, in which case it syncs through Google's infrastructure under their privacy policy.

Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication (Google). We use industry-standard security measures to protect your account information.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth / Firebase Authentication: For user sign-in
• Paystack: For payment processing

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.

Your rights

You can:

• Delete your data: Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data. To delete your account entirely, email us at support@decodr.app.
• Export your data: Contact us to receive a copy of any data we store about you.
• Opt out: You can stop using Decodr at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of Decodr after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of those changes.
